Penza, 3 February 2018. PenzaNews. Work of the second mobile patronage team of palliative care established at the premises of the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution "City Hospital" was organized in Penza.

"In-home patronage turned out to be a very popular service, that is why from the very beginning we faced the challenge of increasing the number of palliative care teams," the deputy chief physician of the city clinic Elena Semechkina explained.

She reminded that work of the palliative team which includes a doctor-therapist and a nurse who have the skills of providing palliative care, consists in treatment and medical support of patients aged over 70 years as well as in training relatives or caregivers to take care of them.

As it was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Health, altogether 14 mobile patronage team of palliative care are planned to be created in the Penza region.
