Penza, 21 June 2018. PenzaNews. Governor Ivan Belozertsev does not exclude that the construction of a new building of the Penza regional oncology dispensary will be started in 2018. He said this during the 9th regular session of the Legislative Assembly of the region held on Thursday, June 21.

The head of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation noted that the task to expand oncology services conforms to the initiative of Russia President Vladimir Putin, who proposed to launch a national programme for fighting against cancer.

Ivan Belozertsev also reminded that a PET-scanner for conduct of positron emission tomography is planned to be delivered to Penza.

"There will be no need to go to Israel, Germany, Moscow, to be on a waiting list, to wait for a quota. [...] This will give an opportunity to identify the disease at the earliest stage," the governor said.

He noted that to date, negotiations with the state corporation Rostekh had been held.

"They are ready to work in the Penza region. Now we are solving financial, legal issues that are of great importance for us to avoid [...] making mistakes," Ivan Belozertsev explained.
