Penza, 16 August 2018. PenzaNews. 1,242 new cases of malignant tumours were registered in the Penza region in seven months of 2018 when conducting prophylactic examinations. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Health.

In particular, as a result of mammographic screening passed by over 56,000 women, 185 cases of cancer were diagnosed, 148 of them – at an early stage.

140,500 female residents underwent oncocytological examination. 25 cases of cervical cancer were detected, 18 of them – at an early stage.

39,000 men made a blood test for the prostate specific antigen. Malignant neoplasms of the prostate were found in 28 of them. 14 cases were identified at the 1st and 2nd stages.
