Penza, 9 January 2020. PenzaNews. Five cases of influenza have been laboratory confirmed in Penza region since early 2020. This was reported by the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) on Thursday, January 9.

"Three of them are A(H1N1) and two cases of influenza type B," the agency specified, noting that four people who had fallen ill had not been vaccinated.

The press service explained that over 2,000 cases of acute respiratory infections had been registered since January 1, with the number of cases remaining below the epidemiological level.
