Penza, 27 January 2020. PenzaNews. 134 cases of influenza have been laboratory confirmed in Penza region since the beginning of the 2019-2020 epidemic season. This was reported by the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor).

"The total morbidity of acute respiratory viral infections in the region is 28.5% lower than the epidemiological level," noted the department, specifying that 0.2% of Penza region population had been ill with acute respiratory viral infections.

The department added that ten classes in six schools of Penza – № 7, 13, 18, 40, 77 and 75/62, as well as one class in the village of Bessonovka – had been closed for the control of a disease due to increased morbidity.
