Penza, 1 April 2020. PenzaNews. The number of people infected with novel coronavirus infection COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) has increased in Penza region to 16. This was reported by the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.

According to the agency, over the past day, four new cases were identified.

The circle of persons with whom these citizens contacted was determined. Work is underway to place the exposed persons under medical supervision. Their laboratory examination is carried out.

In Russia, 2 777 cases of coronavirus infection were registered. Over the past 24 hours, the diagnosis was confirmed in 440 people.

Over the entire period, 190 people were discharged from medical institutions of the country due to recovery. Twenty-four patients who were diagnosed with coronavirus died, including one in Penza.

As previously reported by PenzaNews, Penza region has introduced a self-isolation regime for all citizens since March 31.
