Blood plasma transfusion from recovered patients to those with coronavirus planned in Penza
Penza, 12 April 2020. PenzaNews. Transfusion of blood plasma from persons who were infected with novel coronavirus infection COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019), underwent medical treatment und recovered is planned to be carried out in Penza. This was said by spokeswoman of the governor and government of Penza region Dina Cheremushkina on Sunday, April 12.

“The use of the technology was discussed in the regional government on behalf of the governor [Ivan Belozertsev]. It was decided to start formation of a bank of donors who recovered from coronavirus and do not have contraindications for blood donation,” she explained.
Dina Cheremushkina reminded that testing of the new method, which uses plasma of recovered patients, who have antibodies to novel coronavirus, is carried out in Moscow.
She noted that “the results are good”.
“The regional blood transfusion station has all the necessary equipment and technologies for preparing plasma with antibodies,” said the spokeswoman for the governor and the regional government.
