Penza, 19 May 2020. PenzaNews. About 61 000 tests for novel coronavirus infection COVID-19 were conducted in Penza region. This was stated in a message spread by the press service of the regional department of the Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being (Rospotrebnadzor) on Tuesday, May 19.

“The virology laboratory of the Federal State Health Institution ‘Centre of Hygiene and Epidemiology in Penza Region’ examined 26 345 people and carried out 27 253 tests; the laboratories of the medical network examined 31 238 people, and carried out 33 336 studies," the text specifies.

According to the latest data, more than 7.3 million tests for coronavirus were conducted in Russia as a whole.
