Penza, 26 May 2020. PenzaNews. About 74 000 tests for novel coronavirus infection COVID-19 were conducted in Penza region. This was stated in a message spread by the press service of the regional department of the Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being (Rospotrebnadzor) on Tuesday, May 26.

“The virology laboratory of the Federal State Health Institution ‘Centre of Hygiene and Epidemiology in Penza Region’ examined 29 639 people and carried out 30 598 tests," the text specifies.

It adds that 40 272 people were examined in the laboratories of the medical network, and 43 112 tests were conducted.

As previously reported by PenzaNews, as of May 26, 1 892 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Penza region. 1 365 people recovered. 15 patients died during the entire period.
