In Penza region 100-year-old pensioner infected with coronavirus

Penza, 17 July 2020. PenzaNews. A 100-year-old pensioner contracted novel coronavirus infection COVID-19 in Penza region. This was stated in a message spread by the press service of the regional government on Friday, July 17.

It specifies that during the last 24 hours the diagnosis was confirmed in 36 people in total, 20 of whom live in Penza, seven – in Lopatinsky area, three – in Nizhnelomovsky area, two – in Issinsky area, one each in Bessonovsky, Penzensky Zemetchinsky and Mokshansky areas.
“4 144 people are under surveillance. 23 315 people were removed from observation,” the message says.
The text also shows that the number of tests for coronavirus conducted in the region per day increased by 1 447 – to 182 164, and the total number of people tested for COVID-19 reached 172 604.
As previously reported by PenzaNews, as of July 17, 5 919 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Penza region. 5 244 people were discharged from hospital and 70 patients died.
