Penza, 12 November 2020. PenzaNews. 237 people died of pneumonia in Penza region in January-September 2020. This is stated in a message posted on the website of the regional Ministry of Health and timed to World Pneumonia Day, which is celebrated on November 12.

“According to statistics, every year more than 3 million people die from pneumonia in the world, of which more than 1.1 million people are children under the age of 5. In Penza region, 237 people died of pneumonia in 9 months of 2020, of which 65 people (27.4%) are people of working age,” the test runs.
It notes that children of all ages, the elderly, citizens with weight problems, people suffering from chronic diseases of the cardiovascular and bronchopulmonary systems, smokers, alcoholics and residents with immunodeficiency conditions are at greatest risk of developing this disease.
“Pneumonia is one of the most severe respiratory diseases. It is becoming more and more difficult to treat it every year, since most microbes have already developed a stable immunity to modern antibiotics,” the text adds.
