Penza, 16 November 2020. PenzaNews. Diabetes mellitus was detected in 1 820 people in Penza region in January-September 2020. This was stated in a message published on the website of the regional Ministry of Health.

“There are almost 47 000 people with diabetes in Penza region,” the text notes.

It clarifies that more than 4.5 million people were diagnosed with this disease in Russia, but its actual prevalence is even higher.

“Every second person does not know about their disease,” the report says.

The text explains that the main symptoms of diabetes include dry mouth, constant thirst, impaired vision, insatiable hunger, weight loss, itchy skin and mucous membranes, frequent urination and fatigue.
