Penza, 30 November 2020. PenzaNews. 713 in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures were carried out to residents of Penza region in January-October 2020 under the policy of compulsory health insurance under the basic compulsory medical insurance program, including 134 procedures outside the region. This was announced by the press service of the Territorial Fund of Compulsory Medical Insurance.

“The total cost of medical care provided to residents of the region amounted to 62.9 million roubles,” the Territorial Fund of Compulsory Medical Insurance of Penza region noted.

The press service added that the number of such procedures increased every year: in 2013, the compulsory medical insurance programme provided for just over 300 procedures, and in 2020 – for 950 ones.

The Territorial Fund of Compulsory Medical Insurance also recalled that since 2018, cryopreservation of embryos with subsequent defrosting and transfer into the uterine cavity was available under an IVF policy. 115 women from the region underwent this procedure in the first 10 months of 2020.
