Penza Oncological Dispensary receives new generation CT scanners
Penza, 9 April 2021. PenzaNews. The Penza Regional Oncological Dispensary received modern radiography equipment as part of the Healthcare national project. This is stated in a message of the press service of the regional Ministry of Health.
“A Siemens Somatom Confidence multi-slice spiral CT scanner and a new generation Canon Aquilion One CT system were added to the radiology department's equipment. More than 200 million roubles were allocated from the federal budget for their purchase,” the text specifies.
It notes that the Canon tomographic system equipped with navigation with full visual control of the extent to which a primary or metastatic neoplasm invaded blood vessels and other anatomical structures will enable surgeons to have accurate information about the planned extent of surgery.
“Thanks to its synchronisation with the linear accelerator, the Somatom Confidence spiral CT scanner will enable radiation therapy to be carried out by acting precisely on the affected area without damaging healthy tissue,” it adds.
