Penza, 31 May 2011. PenzaNews. The employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region is suspected of attempted swindle made with the use of his official position. It was reported by the press-center of the Committee of Inquiry of the Penza region on Tuesday, May, 31st.

Maria Orlova, acting the Senior Assistant of the Head of Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Penza region said: "During the investigation, the employees of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the Penza region received the information that the employee of special investigating department of economic crime control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Penza region, forced a man who was targeted in the investigation as a suspect to give him 150 thousand rubles for providing assistance. He told that he had a possibility to affect the judge in making the decision of the suspended sentence".

According to Maria Orlova, on May, 30, the employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region, being in his car on the federal highway М5 "Ural", received the demanded sum of money from the accused and was caught red-handed by the employees of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the Penza region, money was withdrawn.

At the same day the department of investigation of priority cases of the Investigatory committee of the Russian Federation in the Penza region initiated a criminal case in accordance with part 3 article 30, part 3 article 159 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation "An attempted swindle, made by the person with use of his official position".

Maria Orlova said: "Now the investigative authorities of Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Penza region chose a preventive punishment in the form of written undertaking not to leave the place and appropriate behavior for the employee of the District Department of Internal Affairs the Russian Federation. The question about the filing accusation is discussing now. The complex of the investigatory actions aimed at uncovering of the circumstances of the case".
