The ecological situation in the Penza region declared as unsatisfactory

Penza, 9 June 2011. PenzaNews. The Penza region has received an estimation "-4" in the rating of the Russian regions by results of public ecological monitoring of the All-Russia Society of Nature Protection in May, 2011. Experts made a conclusion that the ecological situation in the country as a whole was becoming worse on the eve of summer season.

According to experts, such state of affairs was connected, first of all, with the seasonal phenomena. In particular, because of the fires by which according to June, 6th 2011 more than 35 thousand ha of wood in the whole country were captured. Besides, the high degree of temperature the summer caused the bogger concentration of harmful substances in the cities.

The most prosperous in environmental sense are recognized are the regions: Kareliya (8 points), the Belgorod and Ivanovo regions (7 points), the Tambov region (6 points) and the Volgograd region (4 points).

Among regions of the Volga Federal district Udmurtiya got "3", the Ulyanovsk region — "2", the Samara region — "1", the Kirov region, the Perm Territory and Mordovia — "0" points, Bashkortostan, Mariy El and Chuvashiya — "-2", the Nizhniy Novgorod region and Tatarstan — "-3", the Saratov region and the Penza region got "-4".

The outsiders of the rating are the Kemerovo, Sverdlovsk region, the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Disrict ("-8") and the Orenburg region whith "-9".
