Penza, 12 January 2012. PenzaNews. The website of an association called “Granzhdanskiy kontrol” (Russian for “Civil control”) whose members seek to ensure the transparency and legitimacy of the Russian presidential election of March 4, 2012 has appeared online in Penza.

The website allows visitors to receive advice and apply online to become a member of a district electoral committee or an election observer. In addition, car stickers and leaflets explaining the aims and objectives of the organization have been made available in pdf format on the website.

The Civil Control Association has registered the websites in the international .ru zone as well as the Russian-language .рф zone and has presence on the social networks Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Livejournail and Vkontakte.

As news agency “Penza News” reported earlier, the aims of the Association under its charter include prohibition of support for any candidate and control over the fair and open counting of votes.

The website of the Civil Control Association states: “The President of Russia is to be elected through a fair election the results of which are recognized by all Russian people. No electoral commisions can change the results of a popular vote if we as free citizens of a great country observe the election.
