The deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the Penza region Nikolay Makarov commented on the law passed in the third reading “About Federal Law “About political parties” changes”, that simplifies the order of creation and activity of political parties.

"The new political parties law is a part of the political reform offered by the president. The main thing is to create equal conditions for all political forces. It is a significant step to freedom and democracy development. Political parties, as well as it is necessary, will fight for the power. But it is not less important to realize the plans put by voters before party which they supported," Nikolay Makarov reported.

He noted that the new law reduces the minimum number of members of the parties, necessary for their registration, from 40 000 to 500 people.

"The document also forbids liquidating parties in connection with their insufficient number. However the decision on elimination is accepted, if the party doesn't participate in elections within 7 years in succession."

Besides, according to Nikolay Makarov, the law forbids a party registration which names are similar that extent of mixture with the names of earlier registered parties or social movements.

"The bases for party registration but no more than for three months are established. During this term the party can eliminate comments of Ministry of Justice which, in turn, will be obliged to issue the reasoned conclusion with the indication of the recommendations, allowing to renew registration process," the interlocutor of the agency told.
