Ivan Belozertsev: Elections to Penza Legislative Assembly to be difficult

Penza, 20 April 2012. PenzaNews. Upcoming elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region which will be held in October, 2012, will be difficult, however the aim of “United Russia” is to win and receive the majority in the parliament. It was declared by Ivan Belozertsev, secretary of Political Council of the Penza regional branch of the party on Thursday, April 19.
According to him, in the conditions of law liberalization, with considerable simplification of the procedure of political parties’ creation and with their activation the elective campaign will be bright and interesting.
“Present campaign will take place in conditions of the serious interparty competition. All registered parties will actively defend their positions. I think that it is necessary for us to sign the agreement with all political parties according to which all parties should promote free, honest and fair elections based on principles of openness and respect for all participants of the electoral process,” he said.
Ivan Belozertsev reminded that the number of deputy mandates in the Legislative Assembly within the current legislation increased up to 36, thus 18 candidates will be nominated according to lists of parties and the same number — in single-mandate constituencies.
“That is why it is already necessary to get serious about the formation of a personnel reserve of the party and carrying out primaries for promotion of candidates of the Legislative Assembly,” he emphasized.
Ivan Belozertsev also specified that preliminary “popular vote” will be carried out in June.
“Labor collectives will have an opportunity to put forward the leaders, worthy to represent interests of Penza residents in the main legislature of the region. Nomination of candidates for deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the new convocation will be held at conference of our office which is planned for the last decade of July or the beginning of August. There is a lot of work ahead, and I am sure that we will cope with it,” the leader of the regional office of “United Russia” concluded.
