Penza, 6 June 2012. PenzaNews. Governor Vasily Bochkarev instructed that members of government of the Penza region be taught how to use social networks on the Internet including Twitter, Facebook and LiveJournal. Head of the apparatus of the regional governor and government Viktor Rubtsov shared this story on his Twitter account.

“Residents of the region must be able to learn directly from the actual source what their government is busy doing and what is done to solve the pressing problems in the region,” the official specified.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, in 2010 governor Vasily Bochkarev suggested that all heads of ministries and government offices create their own LiveJournal blogs, which they did.

At present about 10 officials publish posts actively, among them head of Zarechny administration Vyacheslav Gladkov, head of Tamalinskiy district administration Sergey Morgunov, minister of finance of the Penza region Eugenia Krasheninnikova, head of the apparatus of the regional governor and government Viktor Rubtsov and temporary acting head of the housing and communal services office of the region Yuri Ilyin.
