Penza region makes the top three of information transparency rating

Penza, 29 June 2012. PenzaNews. The Ulyanovsk, Moscow, Penza regions, the Republic of Buryatia and the Ivanovo region took the top five rankings of openness of Russian regional governments, compiled by the Institute of the Information Society (IIS) following the results of a research conducted in April 2012.

“The index was calculated on the basis of indicators of four characteristics: social network services, open government data, online cooperation with citizens and integrated/network services,” the press service of the Institute of the Information Society told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The Indices were determined following the analysis of official government websites and six departmental websites (education, health, labor and employment, social protection, finance) of constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The leader of the ranking, the Ulyanovsk region, got 0.3067 points; the Moscow region – 0.2211 points, the Penza region – 0.2103 points.

The top ten included the Kaluga, Belgorod, Novgorod and Novosibirsk regions and the republic of Karelia.

Bringing up the rear are the Republic of Altai (0.0748 points), Primorsky Krai (0.0714 points) and the Chukotka Autonomous District (0.0675 points).
