Penza, 10 August 2012. PenzaNews. Air traffic between the centers of all the regions of Volga Federal District – 36 direct flights – and 20 transit routes through the direct flight connections to airports hubs of Samara, Kazan and Ufa is scheduled to be open within two years. This was stated by the plenipotentiary of the president of Russia in Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich at a presentation program for the development of the regional aviation.

Mikhail Babich said that by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the decision could be taken to develop a domestic aircraft for regional transportation; or the production could be organized with the participation of foreign companies localized in Russian enterprises.

According to him, thus it will be possible to solve the fundamental problem – the revival of aircraft engineering for the regional aviation in Russia.
