Penza, 13 August 2012. PenzaNews. Governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev demanded immediate cessation of logging of Arbekovsky forest.

“All the territories, where there were or there are forest plantations, and which had previously been transferred to private individuals by the former mayors of Penza on questionable conditions, must be returned to the municipality,” he stated.

According to Vasily Bochkarev, the Investigation Committee and the Prosecutor’s Office of the Penza region should start the proceedings on this issue because logging of the forest and building of houses might be connected with the actions of officials.

“In the nearest future I intend to ask Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Penza region Oleg Troshin and Public Prosecutor of the Penza region Valery Koshlevsky for help in solving this problem,” he concluded.
