According to news agency PenzaNews correspondent, the decision was made after the petition of the prosecutor’s office willing to take time to clarify the statements of its reasons. The applicant supported the request.
As previously reported, the basis for cancellation of registration reported by the applicant was the fact that five parties — Democratic Party of Russia, People’s Party of the Russian Federation, Russian Party of Pensioners, Russian Communists and Russian Ecological Party “The Greens” — united the not-bordering constituencies in one regional group, whereas the formation of such regional list of candidates for the Legislative Assembly is not legally allowed.
Elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region of the fifth convocation will be held on October 14 within a mixed system: 18 members will be elected from party lists, and another 18 — from single-member constituencies.
Regional Election Commission approved the lists submitted by 11 political parties and movements in the amount of 349 people, and data of 82 candidates proposed from single-member districts.
