Dmitry Medvedev signed decree on Internet broadcasting of elections

Penza, 14 September 2012. PenzaNews. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed decree No. 1680-r dated September, 13 2012 “On live election broadcast,” which provides the right for the Internet broadcasting of elections in the cities with the population of over 250 thousand people.
The state customer for the state order of providing the data network access, broadcasting the signal on the Internet will be Russian Ministry of Communications, which will also coordinate executive authorities, local self-government bodies and organizations involved in broadcasting.
According to the decree, the broadcast will be provided by JSC Rostelecom.
As previously reported, the elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region of the fifth convocation will be held on October 14, 2012 based on a mixed system: 18 deputies to be elected according to the party lists, and the other 18 — from single-seat electoral districts.
Currently, the region’s election committee has registered the lists submitted by 11 political parties and movements in the amount of 349 people, and 77 candidates nominated from the single-seat districts.
