State Duma member representing the Penza region Nikolai Makarov, a member of the faction “United Russia” supported the bills pending in the lower house of parliament, which put property restrictions for public officials, in particular, prohibit the officials to open accounts in foreign banks and own property abroad.

According to Nikolai Makarov, there is a tendency of formation of the conditions for the return of respect for the officials.

“People have lost confidence in the government. The image of the official has become negative. But the society also has strong expectations that honest people are about to come to power, those who really want to serve their country,” said the deputy of the State Duma.

According to him, the task of officials is to prove with their work and behavior that honest and responsible people carry out the public service, they are willing to sacrifice personal interests for the sake of the common good.
