Penza court dismissed claims by LDPR to withdraw A Just Russia from election

Penza, 9 October 2012. PenzaNews. Penza regional court rejected the application of the regional branch of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia with the request to cancel the registration of the list of candidates for Legislative Assembly election of the fifth convocation of the Penza region, nominated by the party A Just Russia (Spravedlivaya Rossiya). The corresponding decision was made at the meeting held on Tuesday, October 9.

“The prosecutor asked to dismiss the submitted claims according to part 9, Art. 260 of the Civil Procedure Code — cancelation of registration of the candidate or list of candidates is available no later than five days before the election,” explained the press-secretary of Penza regional court Natalya Bychenkova.
As reported earlier, the reason for the claim was the placement of a caricature “Office wisdom” without attribution in propaganda leaflets of A Just Russia.
Elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region of the fifth convocation will be held on October 14 under a mixed system — 18 members will be elected from the party lists, and another 18 — from the single-seat constituencies.
