Penza, 26 October 2012. PenzaNews. Penza City Duma Deputy Chairman Yuri Alpatov was elected to the head of Penza.

According to the reporter of news agency “PenzaNews,” all the deputies present at the session – 28 of 32 – unanimously accepted this decision.

Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region of the fifth convocation Ivan Belozertsev noted that many of the City Duma deputies deserve to work in this position.

“However, the choice fell on Yuri Alpatov. For many years he had successfully served as Deputy Chairman of the City Duma, supervised a social unit which is particularly important. Yuri Alpatov is a competent, responsible person. And I am sure he will continue to work successfully in the new position,” Ivan Belozertsev said.

In turn, Yuri Alpatov thanked the City Duma for their confidence.

Yuri Alpatov was born in the town of Kirsanov, the Tambov region on October 16, 1949.

In 1974, he graduated from the Saratov Medical Institute in specialty General Medicine.

In 1975–1977, he served in the Soviet Army as a head of medical facility.

He began his career as a therapist in Penza City Hospital No. 1.

For over 25 years, he had worked in the Central City Hospital No. 6 named after G.A. Zakharyin.

Over the years, he served as a head of the department, deputy chief medical examiner, outpatient deputy manager. From 1989 to 2005, he worked as a head doctor of the hospital.

In November 2005, he was elected Deputy Chairman of the Penza City Duma.

He is Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation. He has Excellent Medical Service badge, badge For contributions to the development of the city of Penza, and For faithful performance of deputy duty.
