Penza, 1 November 2012. PenzaNews. The work of all four political parties represented in the State Duma of Russia in the Penza region is extremely inefficient. This opinion was expressed by the political scientist Anatoly Bodrov on Thursday, November 1.

“At the last election to the Legislative in mid-October only 25–30% of population of the region came to express their opinion. These figures indicate that the methods the parties chose failed,” he said.

According to Anatoly Bodrov, the meetings held by the opposition in the Penza region, are not very popular among the population for the same reason.

“Penza residents do not come to protest actions not because all of them are satisfied with their lives, but because the suggested slogans do not meet their requirements,” he explained.

The political scientist added that the United Russia in comparison with other parties has a significant advantage on the number of voters, but the mass actions of its supporters and activists also do not give the desired effect.

“The Meeting of Gratitude” held after the election to the Legislative Assembly was attended by over a thousand people.

About half of them came because they really support the policies of the United Russia. However, the meeting was discredited by the students who were “kicked” to Lenin Square by negligent directors of technical schools and colleges,” Anatoly Bodrov emphasized.

He stressed that the current population of the Penza region is not experiencing a political protest.

“The people of the region are now preoccupied by housing and public protest, and that is what the parties and the government should pay attention to,” Anatoly Bodrov summed up.
