“I instructed the head of the governor’s staff department Viktor Rubtsov, and he is going to spend all night writing the outlines for Twitter,” the head of the region joked, noting that the number of officials has been significantly reduced during the year.

“We haven’t come up with a final figure yet, however, around 200 people have been dismissed. According to the statistics, Penza government is the smallest and least demanding in Russia,” he said.

The governor noted that there would be no increase in wages of officials in the coming year due to shortages in the regional budget.

“We have been participating in the co-financing of education and health modernization programs for two years already. Moreover, a large program of repair and construction is carried out for the 350th anniversary of Penza,” the head of the region clarified.

Vasily Bochkarev underlined that reducing the number of bureaucracy representatives is not the goal.

“We are now looking for a happy medium in order not to overload the people, because we do not have a lot of people striving to work here. We are looking for the best solution in terms of quality management borrowing the experience of foreign countries and a number of the regions of the Russian Federation,” he concluded.
