Penza, 6 February 2013. PenzaNews. The head of Penza Yuri Alpatov expressed serious concern about the delay in constructing cultural facilities for the 350th anniversary during the session of Standing Committee on Education, Health, Science, Culture and Social Affairs, held on Tuesday, February 5.

“Prolongation of construction period is unacceptable. This project is co-financed from the federal budget and aims at improving the quality of life of Penza citizens,” he stressed.

During the meeting, the deputies also discussed the issue of preservation and maintenance of public recreation places within the city.

“For example, the recreation park named after V. Belinsky needs to be developed. To do this, we shall hold a meeting with the rectors of universities located near the park in order to encourage students to help maintaining the park,” the head of the city said.
