Penza, 12 February 2013. PenzaNews. Demonstration in defense of social rights and guarantees of the citizens will be held in the square named after V. Belinsky opposite the Drama Theatre in Penza from 12.00 to 13.00 on Saturday, February 16.

“The subject of demonstration deals primarily with housing issues and deprivation of benefits, including those of labor veterans of of the Penza region. We believe, the event may attract up to one thousand people,” the first secretary of the regional committee of the Communist Party, a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region Georgy Kamnev told news agency “PenzaNews.”

According to Georgy Kamvev, demonstration has been agreed with the authorities.

“Previous similar event was held in December 2012, and it gathered a lot of people, which confirms the idea that we have a high level of protest activity. And, above all, people are interested in their social and economic guarantees and living conditions,” the agency interlocutor pointed out.

He added that a year ago, when the election campaign was on, people were more preoccupied with political issues.

“We held demonstrations in December 2011 and then in February 2012. Many people came to defend their political rights. Then the wave passed, and now people are dissatisfied with their social and economic conditions,” Georgy Kamnev summed up.
