Speaking to the supporters, deputy regional coordinator of Penza branch of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Alexander Planin noted that the main objective of the action is to remember all those who served for the benefit of the country, and who now stands on guard of Russia’s security.
“Today we honor the memory of all those people who at different stages of the country’s development gave their lives and shed blood for their native land. A strong army is the key of strong Russia,” he emphasized.
Alexander Planin added that according to the Liberal Democrats and personally LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, army should completely move to contract basis.
“It is professionals who can protect the country from the enemy nowadays; that is why we believe that the service on a contact basis will be able to provide the stability and prosperity of Russia in the future,” he said.
