Penza, 22 April 2013. PenzaNews. Olesya Safonova was appointed the head the Ministry of Economy of the Penza region. This was announced by governor Vasily Bochkarev during an operational meeting on Monday, April 22.

After the dismissal of the Minister of Economy of the region Fedor Barmina, the responsibilities of the acting head of the department were conducted by Alexander Belozertcev.

Olesya Safonova has PhD in Economics.

She has over 60 publications, including two books, four articles in journals recommended by the State Supreme Certification Commission.

Her research area includes coordination of environmental and economic interests of businesses, development of stable eco-economic system, environmental priorities of the development of the agrarian sector.
