Penza, 23 April 2013. PenzaNews. The Communists do not seek for self-profit when organizing pickets against the construction of ice-cream cafe near house No. 50 in Stroiteley Avenue in Penza. This was stated by the Secretary of Oktyabrsky district committee of the Communist Party Dmitry Filyaev, commenting on the statement of the deputy director general of “Ice House” on legal issues Tatiana Kuptsova, published by news agency “PenzaNews.”

“About two weeks ago, the residents of the house applied for help to the district committee of the Communist Party, and the Communists took over the organizational and informational issues of the fight against deforestation and construction. For those who are used to looking for personal benefit in the actions of others, we state that the communists do not seek for self-profit, but are always willing to help those who are fighting against the infringement of legal rights. What personal benefit I — a teacher — can get, is unclear to me. Yes, our actions are directed against construction, and we do not hide this, and we certainly do not deal doubly. We use legal methods. I believe, many residents of house No. 50 will tell you the same. And they have already said the words of gratitude to the representatives of the Communist Party,” Dmitry Filyaev commented.

He also noted that citizens are still very determined — in the nearest future, a statement of claim will be filed in the court, and the protests will continue.

“If “Ice House” believes it can get away with the construction, it is mistaken. I do not think that constant pickets, even by the side of the built cafe, are a great advertising for the place,” the Communist said.

“I would like to ask Penza residents to join the team of fighters against environmental vandalism, since there is no guarantee that tomorrow, a new construction site opens in front of your house,” he added.
