Penza, 29 April 2013. PenzaNews. The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev celebrated his 64 birthday on Monday, April 29. For over 20 years, he has been a regional politician, 15 years of which he is the head of the Penza region.

Vasily Bochkarev was born on April 29, 1949 in village Iva, Nizhnelomovsky area, the Penza region. He graduated from Alatyrsky Forestry Engineering College, then Mari Polytechnic Institute, majored in “Forestry Engineering.” In 1994, he graduated from Penza State Technical University and worked as chief forester in Kameshkirsky area, the Penza region.

On April 29, 2010 the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the region approved the candidacy of Vasily Bochkarev for another 5-year-term in the position of a governor of the Penza region. The period of 2010-2015 is his fourth term. The first term began in 1998.

Vasily Bochkarev is striving for the improvement of market relations, the revival of the village through intensification of cattle-farming and crop production, the development of small rural businesses and the introduction of innovations.
