Penza, 17 May 2013. PenzaNews. The head of Penza administration Roman Chernov expressed his intention to leave the occupied position, but an official statement has not been submitted yet. This was stated by the head of information-analytical department of the City Hall Elena Ovchinnikova on Friday, May 17, when commenting on the information about possible resignation of the mayor.

“I can only say that he spoke to the reporters and expressed his wish to resign. He [Roman Chernov] said that the decision was made due to his health state and for family reasons,” the agency interlocutor said.

“He has not submitted an official statement in the written form yet. He only expressed his thoughts, and now he may or may not write the statement. It is hard to say,” Elena Ovchinnikova added.

She specified that, in any case, the head of Penza Yuri Alpatov would make the final decision on the resignation of the mayor.
