Penza, 17 May 2013. PenzaNews. Penza regional bureau of the Communist Party of Russia responded to the statement made by the head of administration of Penza Roman Chernov about his plans to resign and came up with their own statement, which contains not only evaluation of the executive power of the city, but also a suggestion to return the all-people’s election of the mayor.

“For many years, Penza communists have struggled with Roman Chernov as personification of degradation and decay of our once beautiful high-tech industrial center. Not even one meeting of the communists passed without the requirement for his resignation. An absolutely absurd system of appointment of the city head by a small group of individuals, when the criteria for the appointment and work assessing are completely hidden from the eyes of the public, and the head is actually accountable to his only voter, failed today. That is why we are raising a question of the necessity to restore the all-people’s election of a mayor. We believe that only then we shall get the mayor who works for the good of all the people of Penza, and not for the sake of a group of puppeteers who brought him to power,” reads the text of the statement, a copy of which is available to news agency “PenzaNews.”

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, a statement on the early resignation of the head of administration of Penza Roman Chernov has not been submitted to the City Duma yet, but he intends to ask for the resignation from Saturday, June 1.
