Penza, 27 May 2013. PenzaNews. A number of changes to the laws of the Penza region concerning preparation and conduct of elections and referendums are planned to be made at the ninth session of the Legislative Assembly of the region on Friday, May 31.

According to the explanatory note to the bill, which is available to news agency “PenzaNews,” the changes are aimed at improving the regulation of certain electoral procedures.

Thus, the bill provides for changes aimed at strengthening anti-corruption component. The ban is planned to be put on deposits and accounts in foreign banks for the candidates for the positions of the governor of the Penza region, the members of the Legislative Assembly, as well as the heads of municipalities and their spouses and children.

The authors of the bill also propose to ban the stated categories of citizens to own real estate abroad, acquire securities of foreign companies.

In addition, they will be required to submit information about their expenditures, and those of their spouses and children associated with acquisition of land, other real estate, vehicles, securities, and to publish information about sources of these funds.
