Penza, 6 June 2013. PenzaNews. A program of repair and maintenance of sidewalks should be developed in Penza. This opinion was expressed by the deputy chairman of the City Duma Zhigansha Tuktarov during a meeting of the standing committee on housing services, land management and environment on Thursday, June 6.

“The state of the sidewalks is disturbing. For example, the situation with sidewalks in Okruzhnaya Street, where there are lamp posts standing in the middle of the pedestrian walkway. The sidewalk in Moskovskaya Street also raises a number of questions,” he noted.

According to Zhigansha Tuktarov, Penza City Duma deputies being the people’s representatives should care not only about car owners, but also pedestrians who, at present, experience inconvenience walking through the streets of Penza.

The chairman of the standing committee of the City Duma on housing services, land management and environment Sergei Lisovol agreed with him and drew his colleagues’ attention to another important issue.

“We need to coordinate the timing for the repair of sidewalks with the heat supply organizations. Otherwise it will turn out that we put asphalt, and a month later we have it removed,” the chairman said.

He suggested returning to the issue of program development “Penza Sidewalks” after the celebration of the 350th anniversary of the city.

“I believe we should include considerable funds for this purpose in the budget for the next year,” Sergei Lisovol added.
