Members of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region pre-supported the amendments to the charter of the region, in accordance with which the governor shall not have accounts and property abroad. Discussion on the issue took place at the meeting of the Economic Policy Committee on Monday, June 24.

“Under the changes, if foreign assets or accounts in foreign banks belonging to the governor are detected he may be removed from his position “in connection with the loss of confidence of the President of the Russian Federation.” The final review of the bill is scheduled for Friday, June 28,” the press service of the regional branch of the party United Russia commented to news agency “PenzaNews.”
