Penza, 9 September 2013. PenzaNews. Russian President Vladimir Putin is unlikely to take part in the festivities dedicated to the 350th anniversary of Penza, which will be held on September 13-15.

As the press service of the Kremlin reported, the next Friday Vladimir Putin will be in Bishkek at the meeting of the Council of Heads of States - the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the main objective of which is to consider practical steps to strengthen economic, trade and cultural ties.

However, as an informed source reported to news agency PenzaNews on condition of anonymity, the invitations are ready for sending to the administration of the president of the country, as well as a number of officials.

“I think all this will be reduced to official congratulations, a telegram. Most likely, there will be no visit [of Vladimir Putin]. The country and the world have more important things than the anniversary of Penza,” he said.

According to the source, currently the attention of the government of the Penza region is focused to a greater extent on the possible arrival of the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.

“As you know, Dmitry Medvedev is celebrating his birthday on September 14. The 48th in a row. There is still no information as to where he will celebrate it. But I assure you, Penza authorities are preparing a present,” the agency interlocutor said.
