Penza, 15 September 2013. PenzaNews. According to the estimates of the regional committee of the Communist Party, around 100 people became participants of the meeting “For Fair Elections,” held in the square named after E. Dzerzhinsky on the City Day, September 14.

“During the meeting we have announced two major theses. First of all, we do not accept the results of elections held in the Penza region on September 8. Second of all, we do not trust the electoral system itself and want it to be completely revised,” the secretary of Oktyabrsky district committee of the Communist Party of Russia Dmitry Filyaev.

He explained that the Communists are already working actively on both issues.

“A legislative initiative is being put forward at the state level to change the electoral system. The Communist Party is working in the State Duma of the Russian Federation in this field. Currently in the Penza region we are seeking to ensure that people, who took part in the carousel voting, the members of election committees, who arranged this, and other fraudsters, were punished. The materials have been sent to the investigating authorities. We are determined and willing to walk up to the Russian Prosecutor Office. Also in the next few days will be meeting with the regional prosecutor,” the agency interlocutor said.
