Penza, 29 October 2013. PenzaNews. The application for holding “Russian March” in Penza on November 4 filed by patriot nationalists was declined due to a number of irregularities in the document. “Just before this I personally met the organizers of the mass event. They were offered two options – hold a meeting on November 4 or a march, but 10 days after the application is filed, as provided for by the law. So far, no representative of the organizers has applied to us. Apparently, they still try to decide where and in what form this event should be held,” the agency interlocutor said.
Responding to the question about whether the march can be of any threat to social and political stability of the region, Alexander Voronkov said that there is no danger at all.
He emphasized that everyone has a right to express their own opinion and the regional authorities have never imposed obstacles on it.
The deputy head of the administration of the internal policy of the regional government pointed out that mass events, including various meetings, are regularly held in Penza and always go quietly.
“The planned march of patriot nationalists of between 50 and 250 participants is no different from any other event and I would not place that much emphasis on it,” Alexander Voronkov added.
