Penza communists celebrate October revolution anniversary with demonstration and meeting

Penza, 8 November 2013. PenzaNews. Members and supporters of the Communist Party of Russia celebrated the 96th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution with a meeting and a demonstration of representatives of all the districts of the Penza region.

The participants met at the wall of fame in Lenin Street in Penza and with streamed posters and banners headed in a column to the Lenin square, where they laid flowers to the monument to the leader of the world proletariat.
Then the communists marched along Moscovskaya Street drawing attention of passers-by, who with nostalgia watched the demonstration reminding of the Soviet times.
CPRF supporters carried banners with slogans: “Authorities give away myths, while the tariffs grow up,” “CPRF for justice and prosperity,” “Out with the corruption,” “State support for children, not for oligarchs,” “Out with the monopoly of the party of oligarchs!” and others.
In the upper part of the street, where offices of major banks are situated, the demonstration participants started chanting: “Piece of stone– in banker’s dome.” Despite the chant being harsh, the staff of the offices only smiled at it.
The ceremony of the party membership and komsomol cards granting was held during the meeting, which took place at the cinema “Rodina.” In addition, party activists were rewarded.
At the end of the event, communists adopted a resolution, containing a number of demands to the Penza government. In particular, they insist of termination of infill construction and parks cutting down, they insist on putting things in order in the sphere of housing services and utilities and returning transport to the city property.
In addition, CPRF members demanded that the governor Vasily Bochkarev and the legislative assembly dismiss the mayor of Penza Roman Chernov, provide real support to the youth in employment and getting accommodation, adopt the law “Children of the War.”
The other part of the demands was addressed to the federal authorities. Among them are resignation of the government, making salaries of state employees correspond to the average in the country, the increase of the basic amount of pensions up to 16 thousand rubles, the cease of liquidation of free state places in universities and technical schools, reducing taxes on medium-sized business three times, returning natural wealth to the public property and others.
