Penza, 26 November 2013. PenzaNews. The second Forum of Young Parliamentarians of the Penza region was held in Penza on Tuesday, November 26.

Greeting the participants, the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the region Ivan Belozertsev pointed out that the Forum brought together the best representatives of the modern youth with active civil position.

“I have no doubt about it,” he stressed.

The Legislative Assembly speaker reminded everyone that the youth parliamentarism has been developing in the Penza region since 2008.

“During five years, we saw that the youth parliaments affiliated to the Legislative Assembly, the City Duma and municipalities asserted themselves. They participate in dealing with youth problems, which are numerous. It is you, who understand the issues and who should make proposals for their solving,” Ivan Belozertsev said.

The deputy chairman of the Penza region government Valery Savin, in his turn, expressed his gratitude to the young people for the compassion they show in their work.

“You aim at helping residents of those villages, towns and districts you represent. It is the most important thing,” he pointed out.

However, Valery Savin drew attention to low activity of the youth in elections of different levels.

“A little more than 20% of the youth vote today,” the deputy chairman of the regional government specified, expressing confidence that the youth parliaments would be able to awaken awareness of their peers and improve the situation.

During the ceremonial part of the Forum, the awarding of young deputies who reached high results in their work took place.

Then the event continued in the format of sections, devoted to three main areas – implementation of the youth policy in the Penza region, sharing the best social practices and professional formation of the Penza region residents.
