Penza, 6 December 2013. PenzaNews. The criminal case initiated against a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region of the fifth convocation representing CPRF Andrei Zuev, who on Friday, December 6, was remanded into custody for two months on suspicion of organizing a gang, has discredited the regime again. This opinion was expressed to news agency PenzaNews by the political analyst Anatoly Bodrov.

“It will be decided by the court whether he is guilty or innocent. However, the whole situation is very unhealthy from a political point of view,” the agency interlocutor said.

He added that within the last 20 years, which are considered to be a new era of the development of parliamentarism in Russia, we have not managed to develop an effective mechanism for the government formation.

“There are various filters – municipal, party, collecting signatures, but the main filter – criminal – is not worked out at all. Law enforcement bodies have proved to the public once again that bandits, thieves and crooks, as we consider them, can be elected representative authorities. If they were engaged in operations for several years, why couldn’t they inform the political party? But they prefer to give them an opportunity to be elected, and then disgrace the entire system of the government. In fact, the reputation of the Legislative Assembly was assaulted. And I have a question: are there any other operations conducted by the law enforcement agencies?” Anatoly Bodrov remarked.

According to him, thousands of residents of the Penza region, who voted for Andrei Zuev, are most likely to feel cheated.

“The distrust of the authorities is growing. What if it turned out that we had voted for a bandit. I am scolding the law enforcement agencies. This detention is discrediting the authorities because it turns out that crooks and bandits are in the halls of power,” the political analyst concluded.
