Oppositionist Sergei Padalkin has no plans to join political parties

Penza, 24 December 2013. PenzaNews. Well-known local oppositionist, the former coordinator of the opposition movement “Left Front” in the Penza region Sergei Padalkin said that he is not planning to join any political party.

“I am not planning to join parties, none of them,” he said during a meeting with journalists on Tuesday, December 24.
However, Sergei Padalkin added that he would continue cooperation with CPRF and other opposition forces.
“We will not collaborate with structures obeying the ruling forces. For example, “Communists of Russia.” These are clearly communists in quotes. We are definitely not going to cooperate with them. And those organizations that are truly opposition ones and protect the interests of the people will be our friends. But I am not planning to join any party. I do not see such an organization I can be part of in addition to “Left Front,” the oppositionist remarked.
Furthermore, Sergei Padalkin explained why during the regional report-and-election conference of “Left Front,” which took place on Sunday, December 22, he asked its participants not to elect him to senior positions.
“The organization remains, it continues its work. It will take part in some rallies, it may not – in others. I am not leaving the organization. I will help and support it as much as I can. But now I want to focus on something else, maybe journalism,” he said.
The oppositionist also said that he started writing a book called “I am a soldier.”
“I want to describe things occurring in the Russian army. Some of them are terrifying. They are not openly spoken about. I want to write about an ordinary soldier and his serving from start to finish – things that he saw, his feelings, emotions, insight into things. I started writing while in the army but I did not have enough time. I think now I will have more time and I will busy myself with it. Maybe, I will have something done by the end of the next year,” Sergei Padalkin said.
He also admitted that he wants to “live for himself.”
“Travelling, seeing something new. These are my plans so far,” the oppositionist said.
