The event was organized by the activists of the “National liberation movement” and the members of the regional branch of the All-Russian political party “Great Homeland,” who held posters “Russia and Ukraine are one people over the centuries,” “Together we are one people,” “Ukraine, the Eurasian Union is for good,” “The Eurasian Union is our choice,” “For the Homeland, for sovereignty, for Putin!” and others.

As the chairman of the Penza branch of “Great Homeland” Tatyana Ilyinykh told news agency “PenzaNews,” this action was intended to demonstrate solidarity of the participants with the Ukrainian people.

“Such actions are now taking place in almost all cities of Russia and Ukraine to support the Ukrainian people in their struggle for sovereignty. We want to tell the heroes of “Berkut” that Russia supports them. We see the future of Ukraine in the Customs Union and the Eurasian space. We believe that the restoration of Russia’s full state sovereignty, which was lost in 1991 due to the treachery of Mikhail Gorbachev, is impossible without unification with Ukraine,” the agency interlocutor said.

She added that a similar action in support of the Ukrainian people will take place in front of the shopping and entertainment center “Suvorov” in Penza on Sunday, February 9.
