The first secretary of the regional committee of the Communist Party, the member of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region Georgy Kamnev commented on the appointment of the former assistant to the deputy of the State Duma Vladimir Simagin, the head of the press service of the regional branch of the party Alexei Kostin as the Minister of Investment Development and Business.

“The decision that Kostin will participate in the competition for the vacant post of the Minister of Investment Development and Business of the Penza region was a collective one and is regarded as party mission. Such decision was made so that the Communist Party was able to implement its program, including in terms of business development. Now everything depends on whether he will be given an opportunity to realize our ideas. Knowing Alexei, I can say that he will not be a puppet, but will firmly defend the adoption of relevant decisions. We’ll see whether the regional government approves of actually active people,” the leader of Penza communists told news agency “PenzaNews.”
Talking about the very fact of a communist in the authority, Georgy Kamnev stressed that the Communist Party is always ready to fight for the realization of their ideas and programs “any place, any time and under any circumstances.”
“Of course, one should always consider a specific issue in the context of the events taking place and sometimes should not take such proposals. But now, I believe, the moment is right,” the agency interlocutor concluded.
As PenzaNews reported earlier, Alexei Kostin became the winner among over 100 candidates who applied for an informal competition announced via the Internet to the position of the Minister of Investment Development and Business of the Penza region.
Commenting on his appointment, Alexei Kostin expressed confidence that the existing business experience will allow him to cope successfully with all the tasks.
In addition, he stressed that the appointment of an activist of the Communist Party to such position gives people an idea of the mood prevailing in the regional government.
